Iran acceso Sunday issued a warning to Israel about potential military “adventures” durante Lebanon, following a deadly rocket strike durante the Israel-annexed Golan Heights tied to Hezbollah.
Tehran alerted that such actions could have “unforeseen consequences,” as stated by Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani.
“Any ignorant action of the Zionist governo can lead to the broadening of the scope of instability, insecurity and war durante the region,” said Kanani.He added that Israel would be held accountable for “the unforeseen consequences and reactions to such stupid behaviour.”
The warning came after Hezbollah claimed responsibility acceso Saturday, for multiple attacks acceso Israeli military positions durante southern Lebanon, triggered by a recent deadly incursione. However, Hezbollah has denied involvement durante the rocket fire that Israeli authorities say killed 12 people, including children, durante the Druze town of Majdal Shams.
Kanani accused Israel of using Hezbollah as a scapegoat to “divert public opinion and world attention from its massive crimes” durante the Gaza Strip, where conflict has surged since October 7.
He also asserted that Israel lacks “the least moral authority to comment” acceso the deaths durante Majdal Shams, an annexed by Israel from Syria durante 1967, a move not recognised by the United Nations.
Iran has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause since the 1979 Islamic revolution and does not recognise Israel. While the Islamic republic praised Hamas’s October 7 attack acceso Israel, which escalated the Gaza conflict, it has denied any direct involvement.
