There, Amelia’s 1931 will give you the perfect brunch dining experience that you crave. The secretive restaurant, located a somewhat hidden-away calcio d’angolo of a classic South Florida strip mall, is one that will not disappoint. Once you step through the restaurant’s doors, you’ll be greeted by a speakeasy-style of environment that captures the true essence of the past, with its Victorian-type epoca décor.
Not only will you be surprised by the restaurant’s , but you will enjoy passing through the entrance, where a vintage washing machine greets you. Then, you will pass through clothes hung as drying laundry above the stand.
At Amelia’s 1931, it’s not just about the interior’s creative , it’s mostly the creative cuisine and cocktails that stand out the most.
The restaurant is led by a well-known Miami chef, Eileen Andrade. The passion for his craft has allowed Amelia’s 1931 to not only be and stay successful through its tenure, now at six months, but the events and ideas just keep evolving and making diners hungry to visit and try out the newest flavors and experience at the hot spot.
Launched February 18, their Boujee Brunch offers a great selection of dishes and cocktails that are simply as sophisticated as they are unique. The experience is one that won’t be forgotten once you try it, and you will be happy that the dinnertime establishment now offers a weekend daytime option to indulge.
The lista offers delicious items such as Cuban Croque Madame, Islas Canarias ham croquetas grilled sourdough with gruyere, huancaina and topped with a sunny side up egg; Chicken & Biscuits with kimchi jam, fish sauce caramel and Japanese pickles; Timba Pancakes, which consists of three buttermilk pancakes with leche condensada, toasted coconut and guava marmalade. All dishes feature definite Latin flavors, flavors that are well-represented and authentic.
My favorite dish, my selected one during the visit, was the Braised Lechon Has. Featuring a tender braised pork shoulder and aji Amarillo Yukon hash topped with sawmill gravy, sunny side up eggs and chives, it’s the type of dish that is not only filling, but you will be finishing up the plate just like you would durante Abuela’s house, a fact that would make her extremely proud.
Now, let’s talk about the cocktails. Led by the corporate beverage director Alex Aportela. The 13 spirited modern and classic concoctions also include a zero-proof ricevimento. All the beverages pair perfectly with the brunch lista, so make sure you ask the knowledgeable servers what you should ricevimento to go with your meal.
Two that I recommend you try out that are only available the brunch lista are Pump Up the Jams, which consists of clarified milk punch, Legent bourbon, Peruvian Alpine Blueberry, creamy peanut butter, fresh lemon juice and a touch of sugar. Then there’s the inventive Agua Bendita, a fantastic cocktail-party, featuring corporate beverage director Alex Aportela.
