Israel says jets targeting ‘Hamas compound’ have a school durante Gaza

An Israeli airstrike a school durante Gaza has killed dozens of people, including children, local officials say.

Israel said it was targeting a “Hamas compound” when it struck the school-turned-shelter.

Hamas-affiliated mass-media said the airstrike killed at least 39 people, with local health officials saying that included at least five children.

There was conflicting information about the strikes durante the Nuseirat complesso Thursday morning, with a second a nearby home.

The Associated Press could not immediately independently confirm the details of what happened.

The Israeli military said its fighter jets struck the school run by the United Nations agency providing aid to the Palestinians, known by the acronym UNRWA.

An Israeli military spokesperson later said that 20-30 fighters were durante the school.

He said the wounded were rushed into the emergency department and he saw people searching for loved ones among the bodies durante the hospital courtyard.

“The situation is tragic,” he said.

Videos circulating online appeared to show several injured Palestinians being treated the hospital floor.

Today, a funeral was held for the dead where mourners gathered around the bodies of those killed.
